Sport & Music Set the Scene for Spring & Summer at DCS 2 Way Radio
With spring upon us and summer just around the corner, the sporting calendar is warming up and with it, our supply of two way radios for various events taking place in Manchester, Yorkshire and Lancashire.
Asics Manchester Marathon
On 2nd April the smooth-running of the Asics Greater Manchester Marathon was aided by no less than 163 Motorola DP4400 radios supplied by DCS 2 Way Radio.
With a reputation for being the UK’s flattest, fastest and friendliest marathon, the event’s organisers rely on two way radios to coordinate operations in every area. Marshalls using our radios in the athletes’ village, along the 26.2 mile route and at the finish line ensured that runners had every possible assistance and the supporting crowds enjoyed a thrilling day of entertainment in safety.
Tour de Yorkshire
Following the success of our involvement in last year’s Tour de Yorkshire, DCS 2 Way Radio has again been asked to supply this year’s event, which takes place between 28th and 30th April.
The prestigious cycling event covers all four corners of Yorkshire: Bridlington to Scarborough in Stage 1, Tadcaster to Harrogate in Stage 2 and Bradford to Fox Valley, Sheffield in Stage 3.
DCS 2 Way Radio will be supplying 58 radio handsets to key users and emergency personnel, ensuring reliable radio coverage over a wide area and varying terrain.
The Courteeners play live at Lancashire County Cricket Club
One of Manchester’s biggest indie rock bands, the Couteeners, play live at Old Trafford on Saturday 27th May, an event for which DCS 2 Way is providing 80 Motorola radios to the hosts, Lancashire County Cricket Club and security company G4S.
England vs South Africa Fourth Investec Test Match
We’ll be hiring over 60 Motorola DP4400 two way radios for this much anticipated test match at Old Trafford from 4th to 8th August. England have won 21 out of the last 35 test series between the two nations, so large crowds are predicted.
